About Me

I studied computer science & engineering at Notre Dame and now I'm a Data Scientist at P&G.

My name is Meghan McClain, and I am originally from Springfield, IL. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavior & a Master of Science degree in Computer Science & Engineering. As a graduate student, I spent one year as a graduate research assistant in the Computer Vision Research Lab (CVRL) under the guidance of Dr. Kevin Bowyer and Dr. Adam Czajka. For my graduate research project, I trained a siamese neural network to compare the similarity of iris images using a triplet loss function. With our two-part study design, we were able to see if a human or a machine can more accurately detect monozygotic iris images.

I just recently graduated with a masters degree in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. I'm especially interested in automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. I really enjoy learning and taking on new challenges and I am passionate about having a non-zero-sum game mentality. I'm currently a Data Scientist at Procter & Gamble.

My Skillset

Below, I have listed some skills I have and services I can provide. I hope to expand my skillset every day and add even more services below in the near future.

Python

File handling, web scraping, automatically filling out forms, working with dataframes, and experience using python packages like NumPy, MatPlotlib, Scikit-learn for machine learning

SQL

Basic understanding of SQL syntax, ability to construct a query with conditional filters to find relevant information, and ability to merge the data from multiple tables together using join clauses

Front-End Web Development

I develop custom websites, keeping them unique, functional, and modern. Considering the latest technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Python, Django, Flask, and more.

Responsive Design

A website must be properly viewed on a wide variety of screens. Using media queries, I make sure that your website is always optimally usable on any device, any operating system and any web browser.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

I successfully passed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam.

I have a comprehensive understanding of AWS services and technologies. I have demonstrated the ability to build secure and robust solutions using architectural design principles based on customer requirements. I am able to strategically design well-architected distributed systems that are scalable, resilient, efficient, and fault-tolerant.
